JDE WEB Server Cache Reset

Streamline server cache resets

Many changes in JDE will require cache resets on the WEB Servers, or server reboots, to make them available to the end users. While not too difficult to do, they still take time and when multiplied by the number of servers and the number of times it needs to be done in a day, some sites may need a dedicated person just doing this most of the time, plus there is always room for manual mistakes. Automating this process will consistently save you time and reduce risks.

JDEdwards® OneWorld®/EnterpriseOne® ESI JDE WEB Server Cache Resetis a command-line tool to automatically reset selected caches on selected JAS Servers. Being a command-line tool, it can be scripted and the scripts can be scheduled, if necessary.

JDEdwards® OneWorld®/EnterpriseOne® is steadily moving towards WEB-only architecture, which is not without its own little problems. Those who use multiple JAS Servers in a production environment know that JDE JAS servers cache a lot of data, specs and settings for performance reasons and this, of course, causes all sorts of issues when any of these details are changed.

In order to avoid having to restart all JAS servers in such cases, the standard JAS architecture now allows administrators to reset any of a number of different JAS caches. This sounds good until you have to reset caches on a few Servers a few times a day - the amount of typing, clicking and window switching this involves is unbearable to many administrators (we are not making this up - this is based on the feedback we are receiving from the JDE Administrators all around the World).

Needless to say, ESI JDE WEB Server Cache Reset has a very simple interface, much like the rest of our software solutions, no client requirements and no configuration.

This version of the software is Server-Manager-enabled. If you need this solution for pre-SM releases of JDE, we have a different (older, no longer maintained) version of this tool.

This software is licensed "Per Target WEB Server".

The optional Yearly Update/Upgrade Subscription is available at the time of purchase (not available separately) for an additional yearly fee. It is payable in advance per license, per year. It includes premium support and all software updates released during the paid period. Its cost is calculated as 20% of the product's list price at the time of invoicing, as may change from time to time. Unless the software is purchased for a single use application, we generally recommend to opt in for this Subscription: any future JDE Tools Releases and Releases/Updates may require an updated version of this solution and it's generally more cost-efficient compared to one-off Upgrades.
