ESI JDE ODBC Driver
Universal ODBC access to JD Edwards® EnterpriseOne® data - a modern alternative to legacy JDE ODA connectivity.
ESI JDE ODBC Driver provides a practical, familiar and easy-to-use way to access JD Edwards data from reporting tools, spreadsheets, integration utilities, desktop applications and custom software. Instead of forcing every tool to understand JDE internals, it exposes JDE data through the most universal data access interface: ODBC. All the smart JDE-aware features people wanted from old JDE ODA driver - but modernized, easier to deploy, and with multiple backend options.
The driver uses JDE credentials, observes automatic JDE Table Security and can operate through three separate backends: FAT, XML and AIS. It also includes JDE-aware conveniences such as UDC expansion, automatic decimals and currency handling, and support for either Long or Short column names.

ESI JDE ODBC Driver brings that universal access model to JD Edwards data while preserving the JDE security model. Users connect with their JDE credentials, and access is automatically constrained by JDE Table Security.
The result is simple: users and tools get familiar ODBC access, while administrators retain JDE-controlled authentication and table-level access protection.

Main advantages:
• Uses JDE credentials
• Automatic JDE Table Security
• Three separate backends: FAT, XML and AIS
• UDC expansion support
• Automatic Decimals, Dates and Currency handling
• Support for Long or Short column names
• Provides ODBC interface, one of the most universal and easy-to-use data access providers
The three-backend design allows the driver to fit different JDE landscapes and usage scenarios. FAT, XML and AIS access paths provide flexibility for older and newer installations, different deployment preferences and different integration requirements.
JDE-aware field handling means that common reporting and integration problems are reduced before the data reaches the target tool. Numeric values can be presented with the correct decimal interpretation, currency fields can be handled automatically, Dates shown in the regular format, UDC values can be expanded into more meaningful data, and column naming can be adjusted to suit either technical or business users.
